Bulk liquid storage operator Bidvest Tank Terminals’ (BTT’s) R1-billion mounded liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) storage facility in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal, is set to house the largest tanks in the world and is expected to greatly enhance LPG supply in Southern Africa once completed, writes Tasneem Bulbulia of Creamer Media’s Engineering News.

Bidvest Tank Terminals and Petredec have today celebrated the start of construction on a R1 billion Mounded Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) import and storage facility in Richards Bay, which will ultimately ensure a cost-effective, reliable and safe energy source for southern Africa.

Johannesburg, South Africa - Petredec Limited (“Petredec”) and Bidvest Tank Terminals (“Bidvest”) today announced they have entered into an agreement for the development of a new facility for the import and storage of LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) in Richards Bay, South Africa.  The facility will be a 22,600 metric tonne storage facility at Bidvest’s existing site in Richards Bay.
